NASTY is a board game app. It has no ads, no analytics and no trackers, and nothing about you is ever sold or shared with anyone else. Signing in is optional - the whole game works without an account, and it always will.

What stays on your device

Your saved game (so you can close the app and resume later), your game settings (sound, animation speed) and your own record of games played and won all live only in your device's local storage. None of that is sent anywhere.

Signing in (optional)

The iPhone app offers Sign in with Apple. It is completely optional. Every part of the game - playing on your own, passing one phone around, and playing online with other people - works without ever signing in. Signing in on the website is not available yet.

There is no password anywhere in NASTY, and there never will be.

If you do sign in, here is exactly what the game's own server keeps:

• An Apple sign-in identifier. Apple gives the app a long code that means "this is the same person as last time". It belongs to NASTY only and cannot be used to identify you anywhere else.
• The game name you choose - the name that shows on the leaderboard.
• Your game statistics - games played, games won, points, and knockouts given and taken.

And here is what it does not keep:

• No email address. This version of the app does not ask Apple for your email and does not store one.
• No real name. Only the game name you type in yourself.
• No password, no payment details, no contacts, no photos, no location.
• No tracking of any kind, no advertising, and nothing handed to any other company.

All of it sits on the small server the developer runs for this game, and it is kept until you delete your account.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from inside the app at any time: tap the round button with your initial in the top corner of the game screen, then Delete account. You are asked to confirm once, and nothing happens until you do.

Deleting removes your Apple sign-in identifier, the link between it and your game name, and every sign-in session, straight away. Your leaderboard row - your game name and its games, wins and points - stays on the leaderboard as history unless you ask for that to go too, which the same screen offers.

One small technical record does survive deletion: a scrambled (one-way hashed) version of your sign-in identifier, together with the month your free period of online play ran through. It cannot be turned back into you, your Apple ID, or anything else about you, and it is used for exactly one thing: making sure the free month of online play is not reset by deleting an account and creating a new one. Deleting your account therefore does not restart your free month. This record contains no name, no email, no game history and no purchases, and it is never used for anything else.

Deleting your account in the app does not automatically tell Apple. If you also want to take NASTY off Apple's own list, open Settings, tap your name at the top, then Sign in with Apple, and remove NASTY there.

You can also just email blake.pangman@gmail.com and ask for your account to be deleted.

The leaderboard

The shared leaderboard shows game names and their totals. Since 26 July 2026 you need to sign in to build up a record on it: results from players who are not signed in are no longer added. Signing in ties your row to you, so it follows you from phone to phone instead of following whoever types the same name. Rows from before that date are kept and stay visible as history, they simply stop growing. Nothing on the leaderboard is ever deleted to make this work.

Online multiplayer

If you host or join an online game, the moves you make (which card you played, which tee you moved) and the name you type when joining are relayed through a small server the developer runs, only so that everyone at the (virtual) table sees the same board - the same way a dealer at a real table would. That is it: no profiles, no chat logs kept beyond the current game, no advertising use, nothing sold to third parties. Rooms and their history are automatically deleted after they have been idle for a while.

Children

NASTY is a game children are welcome to play. Children do not need an account and we would rather they did not create one. Everything in the game works without signing in, and a child's own record of games played and won is kept on their own device either way. If you believe a child has created an account and you want it removed, email the address below and it will be deleted.
